A. Previous Artfest Participants- Please register, pay and RSVP below. If you prefer to register by mail please send check with this signed form to address found in #2
B. New Participants- Completed application, payment, submission of 3 portfolio images and a short artist biography are required for this juried art competition. The registration is below. Otherwise, please submit application and images by email to nhoover@hamiltonvalley.com and send a check made payable to Burnet Merchants Association (BAM) to Burnet Art Festival, S & H Trading Post, 209 W. Polk, Burnet, TX 78611.

Application Fee: $30 due by October 28, 2022. Application fee is non-refundable

Payments received after the Oct. 28th will include a $20 late fee.

Burnet Artfest is a Juried Art Show. Artists who have participated in previous Artfest events are automatically juried in for 2022. First time applicants will need to email images or submit through the burnetartfest.com website and judges will email application acceptance/rejection in 5 days.

Competing artists must be over 18 years old.

Previously painted pieces- all painting styles are accepted.

Plein air pieces- all painting styles except mixed media are accepted.

All displayed artworks must be framed. Maximum frame size is 320 sq.in.or 16”x20”.

A maximum of 3 entries per artist can be entered. At least 1 piece must be Plein Air and completed during this event. To increase art awareness to the general public, artists will be required to paint on the Burnet Square one out of the two paint days. Each artist will paint at the downtown location one day. Artists, please designate if you prefer to paint on the square on Friday or Saturday and we will try to accommodate your wishes. Artists are not limited to location subjects; painting from photographs while on the square is acceptable.

Artist Registration: check in all previously painted pieces and if you have not received your welcome packet by email, you will also receive your welcome letter, name tag, a copy of your registration, schedule of events, art label (complete and tape to the back of each painting,). Blank competition canvases will be stamped for this competition. All Plein Air artwork must start with a blank canvas.

Painting Check in: Business Card and Price must be affixed to the front of the entry. Entry name, price and assigned entry number need to be consistent between art label on the back and business card/price tags on the front. Once check-in is completed, the artist will be provided with their merchant locations and will proceed to those locations to deliver/hang their paintings.

BAM will retain 30% of all competition pieces entered in the “Art in the Window” Show, so price accordingly.

Art sale payments will be mailed to the artist within 10 days.

Burnet Chamber of Commerce and BAM Staff, participating merchants, volunteers, directors and officers or agents, are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged equipment or merchandise or accident/injury to artists or their assistants and any of the above individuals or businesses will be held harmless for any and all liability.

It is the exhibitors’ responsibility to maintain all required licenses for sales tax as required by the State of Texas.

Artists will coordinate with the merchant to pick up any unsold artwork the first week of January 2023.

Winners of the People’s Choice Cash Awards will be announced by email and Facebook and the website. Checks will be mailed within 10 days to the winners!
